Holden LX A9X Hatchback – 1978 Sandown Winner – Peter Brock
Peter Brock’s victory in the 1978 Hang Ten 400 at Sandown helped the Aussie touring car racing legend write a unique piece of history, given it was the second leg of a unique treble he achieved that season.
His victory in the traditional Bathurst warm-up race was his fourth straight Sandown enduro race win and came in a season where he became the first driver to win the unofficial triple crown wityh vitorices in the Australian Touring Car Championship, Sandown 400 and Bathurst 1000 in the same year.
Pole-sitter Brock led home Holden Dealer Team partner John Harvey in a 1-2 form finish, their HDT A9X Toranas leading home a sweep of the top five positions by the Holden muscle cars.
The 1978 Sandown win ended up as one of seven straight wins in the race by Brock, whose amazing streak of success in the Melbourne endurance classic ran from 1975 to 1981.
Forming part of the Peter Brock Collection it will be produced in die-cast with fully opening parts, highly detailed engine bay, interior and undercarriage along with beautiful finishing throughout.
