Matich A53 1976 Australian Grand Prix Winner John Goss
September 12th, 1976 saw the opening round of the Australian Gold Star Series at Sandown. This was the Australian Grand Prix and it would become the crowning moment in John Goss’ racing career. He did well in qualifiying, putting him third on the grid. In the race he pushed his way past Vern Schuppan’s much newer designed Elfin to take the lead, the duel brought out the best in both drivers, making it a spectacular race. Goss managed to hold on and win the race and the Australian Grand Prix.
